CPA vs. Affiliate Marketing: It’s still a classic debate, isn’t it? 🙂 And for some people who failed to get affiliate marketing to work for them, but succeeded in CPA, well, it’s not so much about naming a clear winner here. Read on to find out why…

The same could be said for a lot of the top Internet marketers today like Frank Kern, Perry Marshall, and others who made their living from affiliate marketing. So it all boils down to this:

Who’s right, and who’s wrong? The answer to this question is simple…

No one.

While CPA marketing has been around for many years, but it wasn’t until the recent few years when it really started to take off with both successful and aspiring Internet marketers alike, with many thanks to CPA pioneers like Amish Shah who showed the online community how profitable CPA marketing can be.

There are some CPA enthusiasts who believe that running a CPA business is easier than regular affiliate marketing because it’s simpler for people to take FREE actions that doesn’t require them to PURCHASE for you to make money.

Another powerful benefit of CPA is the instant results and responses you can get from basic zip and email submit forms. Even if it’s just a few dollars per day profit, this can quickly add up once scaled up, and it’s enough to inspire anyone to take that bit of success and grow on it — where as affiliate marketing requires MORE patience and resilience to get results.

CPA marketing is a great alternative to affiliate marketing, but now let’s talk a little about what makes affiliate marketing a strong “contender” in this contest to see which business model is the best:

It’s said, “The bigger the risk you take in businesses, the bigger the rewards”. Although not always the case, I’ve discovered from personal experience it’s fairly accurate. The more you risk, the more money and profit margins you will make in general, assuming you are doing things correctly. Same goes with the investment world by the way. 🙂

Let’s say in affiliate marketing, you have an affiliate product paying out $20 per sale in commissions. Now if you had a common CPA campaign set-up, it would take 20 people to take a specific action ($1.00 per zip/email submit) to earn what only took ONE person to buy to give you that $20 commission.

Also, with affiliate marketing you’re not at the mercy of the CPA merchant. Getting approved in the early stages of CPA marketing is a big challenge for newbies who are not yet established. In most of affiliate marketing, it is either instant approvals or just a quick email to say who you are and how you’re going to promote. It’s very rare that you would have to call anyone just for approval to get set-up and making money, which happens in CPA marketing.

As you can see there are both the “positives and negatives” in CPA and Affiliate Marketing. I started out in affiliate marketing because I found it much easier not having to struggle with approvals and all. But be aware that it takes a while to see some results. In the initial stages you would see your affiliate account with zero sales staring at you for a while.

In CPA, you can make that few dollars much more quickly and get encouraged by those little results that add up over time. So as you start to make more money, whichever form of marketing you choose, be it CPA or affiliate marketing, branch out into the other one to grow and diversify your online income further!
